Darlings

I have been writing a lot at a different adress lately. Let me know if you want it! <3

(I'll be updating here as well but I've been laying a bit low.)

chatting

it's almost four
I hate when Ben leaves
the days are okay but the nights are the WORST
I stay up late just so I can sleep for long so that time passes faster...

So yeah, it's really late and this is blog post number 900. Today I wrote a bit on my book, painted my nails, hung out with Rose, played Guild Wars 2 and... that's pretty much it I guess. I went swimming, I ate a lot of candy and pretty much no "real" food except a frozen mac-n-cheese that was supposed to be fancy but tasted pretty horrible. (Rose liked hers though.)

Oh and I watched Twin Peaks, ep1s02. Curiouser and curiouser. The owls are not what they seem. Oh Lynch you crazy dude.

Nails are now a shade of pearly pink that I can't decide if I love or hate.

Goodnight. Or morning. Or whatever time it is when you read this, dear reader.

---edit---
tried to get this post to look normal but srsly guise it's super late and I'm goin to bed instead

language

So I noticed that I have a few readers in the states, and I translated the blog into English with the Google translate function, and... yeah... that was a laugh.

So I think I might start blogging in English, since Swedes still understand it, and I tweet in English, and I like English. There might be a few posts in Swedish, but... yeah.

Also, I made a new blog last night; drunken crafting. Not to be confused with drunken rafting, which isn't as much fun at all.

In other news I am at work and my head hurts.

2003

So I should definitely be cleaning the house but I accidentaly got stuck in front of the computer! Oh no! Who would have thought!?

I started reading my old web-diary. Not blog, web-diary. From before blogging. And man, I was funny and outspoken and honest and deep and verbal in 2003. So much happened that year it's hard to believe! I dropped out of school, drank too much, was too young, moved to Italy, got back, moved to Malmö, moved back to my Mom - again - started working as a blacksmith, met Johnny, one of the funniest boyfriends I ever had, and a thousand other things. The funniest thing about this is that I never wrote about anything that actually happened, I only wrote about my own feelings, all the time. But the present me - back then, the future me - understands what eighteen-year-old-me meant.

This diary was kept for very many years and can be found at Helgon. You do have to be a member though. If you are, and you want to read it, my username there is CookieKitten, of course. Helgon is a community, I have been very active there in my youth but I'm old now and I don't log on very often, just keeping track of a couple of friends who havn't yet actualized the transition to Facebook/blogs/real e-mail.

Okay, I should take a break from reading (and copying to my PC) old diary posts I guess. And get dressed and go do something with my boyfriend.

just one more day

Woooooo tomorrow I'm 25!

Some last minute tips: I want pretty much anything from this shop.

So I haven't been posting in ages I know. I have been trying but I got a total blogger's block. Blocker. Well. Nothing very interesting has happened but I'll update you on what's been going on anyways:

I have been working, as usual. It's okay.

I am pretty poor this month. I will probably be poor next month too. It sucks. I can't really do stuff.

Joe and I went to see Baby Gramps on sunday. He was a genius. A very old genius.

I saw Harry Potter on sunday as well. The latest movie. It was scary and sad and good.

I put in a contraceptive implant yesterday. It didn't hurt even though the syringe was as big a a pen. Hurts now though.

Sandra comes to cork on sunday and that's like the best thing ever.

I miss Sweden a lot. I miss my cat's. Jupiter needs a new home, maybe I won't ever see him again. This makes me almost cry.

The doctor gave me nasal spray for my snoring. Hope it helps.

So I think that is pretty much it. Tonight me and Hannah are going to see a Swedish movie and eat Swedish pea soup today.

The end.

new stuff

So you might have noticed the new title... I realized that I don't feel like a stranger any more. Most of the people I got to know when I came here are gone, and most of the people who came here after me are gone too, and I don't feel like a newcomer at all anymore. I know the streets by name, I know obsure little restaurants and shops, they know me by name in some of them...

And through all that has happened to me I feel different, stronger than before. Hence the change of one little letter. A subtle yet very important difference.

I am still stranger than many others though, in their eyes. "You are so strange" is something I hear every day.

And I feel that it's pretty important to remember to try to keep my attitude a bit positive at the moment, since everything feels a bit heavier, for some reason.

As most people might know the word "blog" comes from "web-logg", a way for internet nerds to tell other internet nerds what they're up to on the web. In that great tradition I thought I would share some interesting stuff with you!

This wonderful picture blog has captivated my interest most of the morning. And now I want to see Asia in general, and Thailand in particular, even more than before.

This absurd recipe doesn't really sound strange at all once you read it through... Actually, it sounds very nice... The bacon trend on the internet right now is really flourishing. Also, as a lover of ice cream above all other sweet things, I want, no need an ice cream machine, now! Please please please! Doesn't go too well with the lchf-lifestyle though. Or... Frozen yoghurt should work. But it's not really the same...

As so many other's I've gotten stuck on "Heja Abbe", a Swedish blog about a little boy born with a heart problem, written by his devoted and loving father. Very close to tears a number of times, as I follow Abbe's first couple of years through operations, medicines, hospitals, specialists and pain but also trips to the beach and the joys of family life at it's best.

Now I'ts lunchtime! Leftover's from last nights Peking Duck (one of my lchf-exeptions... only three times a week isn't a very creative idea).

holy cheese

So I've been spending a couple of days exploring the Swedish blog-jungle. There are so extremely many blogs there. Middle aged men who write about sport, middle aged men who write about their children, middle aged men who write about their relationships, middle aged women who write about sex, young women who write about sex, middle aged women who write about their children, middle aged women who write about dieting, middle aged women who write about relationships, young women who write about fashion, young women who write about dieting, young women who write about knitting, young women who write about relationships, young women who write about eating disorders, people in general writing about themselves and feeling like they mean something.

Well. They probably do. They are also, many of them, pretentious asses who perceive themselves to be literary geniuses, but that's okay. Oh, and yeah, many of them work with advertising. There is loads of crap and loads of good stuff.

Anyways they all have one thing in common; this "challenge". No one challenged me because I am not a part of the friendly blog gang commonly referred to as "The Swedish Blog-Elite" but that's okay too. But since work is a bit slow today, and since I am already challenged by nature, I will treat you, my honoured readers, to this highly interesting challenge, in Swedish! Woohoo!

10 Första
Första bästa kompis: Ehm... Mellanstadiet. Anna.
Första semester: Skidsemester i min tidiga barndom?
Reggae Reggae - 40 happy Reggae hits!

8 senaste
Senaste filmen du såg: Welcome to the Dollhouse av Todd Solondz.
Senaste gången du grät: I söndags.

today...

I'm doing routercalls, which is quite restful compared to doing SOC-mails. I feel utterly stupid and mostly like I'm forcing other people to work more rather that being part of a team and doing something constructive and everything, and I know that it's always like that when you're new and stuff but I still don't like it and I'm completely stressed out all the time and get even more nightmares...

Well, routers. Could do it in my sleep. Nice and relaxing.

When I get bored I play Zuma, create accounts in sites like Twitter, or read this blog.

We're halfway to the weekend. And halfway trough thursday. I have failed to quit coffee, but at least I'm down to one cup a day. A big cup though. Tripple espresso cappuchino. But whatever, anything is better that the greyish, sickly, disgusting crap from the machine in the canteen - even though it's free.

Lunch today was great, chicken rolls with feta and red pesto, Maria is a godess when it comes to cooking.

food

I like food, I write about food. I started another blog. I call it "Feed". If you like it, or dislike it, or hate the colours, or like the colours, or whatever, tell me.

I basically loath bloggers, deep down inside. There are way to many food blogs, fashion blogs, movie blogs and so on. But I can't help myself. I like writing and I see no sense in writing stuff in Open Office Writer and saving it in my PC for no one but myself to see.

So enjoy. Or ignore. Whichever suits you.

duh

I can see what posts are commented. (Yay bimbopoints for me!) And it was a post that is exactly one year old today, written in Swedish, written on the day that I was supposed to be contacted by Siemens. They didn't, on that day, but a couple of days later. I left Sweden a couple of weeks after geting the call.

Strange, zooming back through time like that. Totally unexpected.

Anyhow the comment was a total spam.

No lasagna today as I was feeling almost ill. Tired, headache, woozy. The woozy could be the painkillers though. Pizza instead. Yummy peperoni with barbeque sauce.

garlic and friendship

An interesting fact about this blog is that when someone leaves a comment you get to choose if you want to publish it or not. But it does'nt say what post was commented. I usually don't really care since it's almost only my parents who comment, but today I got a comment from a reader I don't actually know, which is always fun, especially since it's happened like... twice before. So now I just spent about half an hour trying to figure out which post was commented! I backtracked about a year and found nothing! Mysterious! It was in english and I have only been writing in english for about a year so It's weird. The comment was "Well written article!" which does'nt really give me a clue.

Well, I admit, that was not actually very interesting.

Anyhow, more interesting is what we had for dinner today! Wonderful, beautiful lamb! Superb! So I felt it was time for some recipe sharing!

Lamb chops
potatoes
red wine
garlic
fresh rosemary
haloumi
salt and pepper

Slice the potatoes, put in a pan with oil, a bit of wine, salt, pepper and rosemary and put in the oven for 10-20 minutes (depending on size) on 200 degrees celsius.

Take the pan out and put in pressed garlic and a couple of whole garlic bits, more wine, lamb, lots of rosemary, some more oil, more salt and pepper, some other spices if you feel like it; a bit of chilli maybe, soy sauce, some Worchestershire sauce. Put it back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

Take out and put on quite thin slices of haloumi. Put back in for 5 more minutes.

Finished!

Now if you feel like it change the times, they are not very exact, and it's really a question of taste and sizes of the ingredients. And you might want to make gravy out of the "sauce" but it's really nice just as it is.

Well. Today I finished knitting two itsy bitsy baby hats, I'll post photos when I remember to, and I bought new knitting needles (the kind with a "cord" between them) and a book with patterns! And some really really beautiful yarn... The same kind as I have in my hat but in other colours. I have a plan of making an oversized turtleneck-ish scarf kind of thing. Can't really explain it but yeah, you know, photos when I remember to take them.

Tomorrow I'm finally making lasagna, me and Maria have been talking about it for ages, and Maria's baking this weeks friday cake. On thursday we have a junta-meeting at Tribes!

And so life goes on...

It's pretty strange, how it's so easy to beleive that friendship is like bone, or like a thick rope, you just know that whatever happens this particular person means so much to you that shit just can't come between you. And then there's misunderstandings and minor fights and frustrations and all of a sudden you realize - he is actually avoiding me. And there's not so much to do. You realize that friendship is like spiderwebs. Complicated, beautiful and easy to break.

Somehow I don't think this is the end of it though. It feels more like we might need some space, and it's probably going to be okay in a while. At least I really really hope so. But to be honest I think the space is good for the both of us. As long as it's not permanent.

In the meantime... so foolish. So foolish of me to think that I could actually "get over" you. Play me soft songs in the middle of the night, climb in through my window, kiss me when I don't expect it. You are all I want.

Listening to: The Be Good Tanyas (new favourites yes) - all of their albums, on shuffle. Oh your god it's good! It's like... Well, like David Eugene Edwards if he was a number of women and not religous, maybe. Like 16 Horspower with a bit of Leonard Cohen and some more folk influences and beautiful lyrics and banjos! (I love banjos.) And, like creamy silky souly and very emotional, longing perfume for my ears these beautiful voices. Sometimes in southern dialects even though theyr'e Canadian.

new things

I have another baby blog. Not a blog about babies, but a blog that is still a baby. A blog about the River Lee, since I have a million pictures of it that never come to their right just sitting around on Mr. Pink.

sorry

Ohyeah, just wanted to apologize to everyone that evidentely reads my blog. I really didn't expect any reaction at all on that post. Nice to know you guys havn't forgotten about me... =)

Thursday, 17 July 2008

Hello

Both of you. My two readers. (Or are you three?)

Well, let me just make a couple of things clear here, that I think people don't really get; I am not as confident as I seem. Or, I don't really think I seem confident but other people seem to think so. Whatever. The thing with this stupid blog is that I write some stuff here that I can't really say. But then on the other hand, I don't really know who reads it (if there actually is more than three people actually reading it). So I kinda write bullshit that means nothing. Fun for... no one.

I think I can say that I have three readers. Two of you are called Maria. The rest of you know who you are. (Yes. You can read it. It's ok.)

So who do I write for? Myself? Since I censor myself and have several other outlets I think not. For mom? I... No. For my roomie? Not really. For the rest of the readership? Sometimes maybe. Some of it.

I think I mostly wanted to keep old friends back in the old country posted on what's going on, but I doubt that anyone back there still reads this.

Oh right! Sorry Jojo!

Well... I think it's mostly a habit by now. I don't know.

Thinking about taking up belly dancing. Seems like a good way to train lots of interesting muscles. (Uhm... Unrelated issue yeah.)

Feeling slighty... sad. (Yep, that would be slightly as in shitloads.) Maybe I'm just tired. It's kinda late and I have to take a shower before bed.

There is so much I want to say. So very much. But I don't want to put any weight on anyone, and I'm scared...

So after a lot of writing, erasing, writing and erasing I realize I should probably go and take that shower already. Yep. Right about now.

go

Hello. We're back in business.

I try to go with the flow, keep on track, walk the line, keep it real, follow my heart, be true to myself and whatever, but I'm kinda down and it aint workin' too well for me right now. I feel feelings, and they are heavy, and I wish I could just put them down and rest for a while.

Today the taxi drivers had a protest. They drove around town honking their carhorns.

I feel kinda destructive. I don't know. There's so much different stuff going on, in my head and outside. I need a rest. Damn.

Well, if anyone has followed this blog, you might have guessed that I have a kinda complex relationship to guys. This is true. There are several that occur in the blog. To be kind to all of you I thought I might actually start to explain what's going on, so that the blog is interesting not only for people who know what's been going on in my life lately.

There's a guy I like, he lives in London, Iv'e known him for about seven months or something and I liked him all along. I guess he likes me as well. But we havn't been able to spend enough time together to actually... become something, something more than just two people who both do all they can to avoid every kind of recemblance to a relationship imaginable. But since I came here I've become so happy and mentally not-so-challenged as before, and I started to open up to the idea of maybe falling for someone. I am still extremely catious and it still mostly scares me shitless, but yeah, I dated. I never liked anyone more than that guy in London but I never thought he'd come around, so I dated, and most of the times it ended with bitterness, but not so hard, because I always had him on my mind.

Sometimes I thought that I was only using him as some kind of safety net, but I came to the conclusion that he would be a quite sucky net. He doesn't keep me safe, he doesn't catch me when I fall, but that's not why I like him either. I like him because of who he is, because of how he talks and because of his smile. And some other stuff, whatever. He knows about Ford Fairlane and Arizona Dream. He's really cool. Whatever.

I met someone else. A really charming guy. After seeing him for a few weeks I told the guy in London (let's call him Joe, for fun and simplicity) and his reaction was not really what I expected. (A funny thing is that both these guys are bartenders. One pours beer in Cork and think's that cocktail bartenders are stupid, and that there should be a penalty for spinning bottles, one spins bottles in London and thinks that pub bartenders are stupid and that pouring beer is the most boring thing in the world. I find this very amusing.) So this Joe person. He admits to feeling feelings. For me.

I was really happy, and let my contact with the other bartender die. I spent my nights awake, in front of my computer, talking to Joe on msn. After a while he came over. It was nice. We spent a lot of time in my room. He left me happy, full of hope.

When he came back to London he started a new job and I did'nt hear from him much at all. After some time, when I finally got to talk to him for a while, he told me about his plans, which included staying in London for a few months more, moving to Germany and then going to Asia for six months or something. This made me cry. I don't think he realized. The next day I explained to him that I really wished that he would choose me when I chose him. When he asked me to choose him. I think, maybe, he understood.

After that I didn't hear from him for a few days, untill today, when he sent me a short mail about the weather in London. I still don't really know how to react.

I miss him.

There is a heavy load of other stuff on me as well. My mom and Robin has been here, and left again. Johan/Afrika and Viola have both arrived and seem to be getting along with life and people and everything just peachy. The pub bartender and I are kinda getting in touch again. The seriousness of before is kinda gone though, after no contact at all for a few weeks.

So yeah, anyhow, I'm watching CSI, witch is fun, and commercials, witch are in Irish.

I'm frustrated, a bit angry, a bit sad. Not only because of the Irish commercials.

Paddy's!

Ooomph. I am a bad blogger. I have been doing so much stuff lately that I hav'nt had time to blog. And at work, where I usually blog, I've been reading Questionable Content the latest couple of days.

So theatre, wine, movies... Yeah.

Today is saturday, I'm at work, leaving soon to go home to wash the rest of the henna out of my hair since there was no warm water this morning.

Anyhoo. I'll write more some other time.

Shadows

Saturday night turned out a bit to wet but all in all it was lots of fun. I should've skipped that last bottle of red wine though, sunday was harsh. So so harsh. But the upside was that I in the extremely drunken state I (helped by Amalie) arrived home in managed to take my contacts out and fall into bed without washing off my makeup. And late sunday afternoon my new eyeshadow still looked perfect! Thank you Urban Decay!

Apart from that, everything about the house goes straight to the house blog, no longer seventh heaven, only 22 Vicar now.

And when it comes to me, I'm still wrestling, and I realized I cope very badly with rejection. I guess everyone does, but it's so much harder when it's completely unexpected. It really gets to me. So I'm wrestling all these different things, unwelcome emotions that cast their shadows on my otherwise so bright day. I'm not feeling lonely, I don't long for any companion, temporary or lifelong, I don't want anyone to share stuff with, I'm completely happy having my bed to myself!

So why, for heavens sake, do I still miss? Why do I think about people that I know are not interested, or to emotionally fucked up, or simply just in the wrong country? I think it's just about the fact that I can't handle the rejection. That the fact that I am unwanted, and so badly unwanted that I'm not even worth being personally informed of this, is more painful than the actual loss of the people who reject me. Not so strange I guess, no one likes being harshly dumped. And if you feel like going Freud on me I guess it can be traced back to my childhood (no names mentioned).

The thing is, the person I miss the most has'nt really rejected me. But I still miss him.

Feeling small

First of all I have a new blog with Sara and Maria, seventh heaven, where I will start posting as well. I will of course not stop posting here though.

I feel more and more as though I'm doing a bad job, and like my boss dislikes me. I don't know if I'm only imagining it or not, but it feels like it. I don't know. My coworkers contradict me when I talk to them about it, and I think they would be honest about stuff like that (I think they are honest people, they are my friends).

And talking of friends/coworkers, Hannah is back! It's nice, I've missed her. She's been skiing in France. (Or snowboarding actually.) I'm a bit jealous.

Blogthings

This is not a filmblog, or a bookblog, or a sportblog. But it seems like people read it anyways. Wich kind of makes me want to write better. And more.

Right now I am not at work, despite the fact that it is half two on a monday. I am off today, wich is great. So I'm at a internet cafe at Barrack, hanging around while my company is reading hockey blogs.

I have moved! To Vicar street! With Sara and Maria and I love it. Yesterday I made mom's lemon and terragon chicken, and it felt very much like home. Not only home, but a home. Mine.

Meanwhile, at "home", in Sweden that is, which is of course "home" although Cork feels more like home after just a couple of months, my new baby sister is born. Since friday I have two sisters instead of one. Which is a miracle and I love them both eternally. (Yes, okay, I love my brothers too.) Of all the people in the world, these are the most inportant to me. All four of them.

My stubborn cold seems to slowly subside, my painfull tooth is still painful but not as bad, and my visitor is making me happy. It has been a very good weekend, even though most of saturday was spent moving. I have new shoes, new jeans, the Alien quadrology and the first season of Monthy Pyton's Flying Circus. (And for all this I spent € 30. Wow like.)

Sweeny Todd was good mostly because of exelent music and the fact that Depp was a much better singer than I would have thought. But Burton will have to be a little more than just Burton to impress. Just doing the same thing with the same actors over and over again does not make me happy, even though I count myself as a Burton fan. I wonder what he will make of Alice. It is a book that I adore, but the film is based on the computer game. Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice, returning to Wonderland many years later. I must admit that I am highly sceptical. Well, I'll have to wait about a year to find out if Burton is still able to surprise me, and if he is good enough to direct Gellar into a mentally challenged Alice.
